What does Well-being mean to you?

Well-being is very important in our lives. I see it as 8 different areas: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Vocational, Financial & Environmental. If we can have balance in all of these areas we are living a happy life. Sometimes we need to work more on some areas than others because we leave them out,  especially when it comes to self-care and our emotions.

I am a big believer in letting go of things that we have stored in our bodies concerning emotions. We are not good at dealing with things or letting them go, so we swallow them down and keep them in our bodies.  This is where Reiki helps.  It is a healing technique where energy is channelled into you to activate the natural healing process.  Your thoughts and emotions, such as worry and fear,  can affect your body and vibration depleting your energy.  Holding on to negative thoughts and memories in our subconscious can also have a damaging effect causing ill health.  Reiki is a holistic treatment and works where it is needed, helping to bring you back into balance both physically, mentally and emotionally.

Reflexology is also another holistic treatment that helps with the physical and emotional side of well-being.  The theory behind reflexology is that the body’s organs and structures are mapped out in miniature on the foot.  By applying finger and thumb pressure to those reflexes on the feet, I can tell if the body is congested or ‘blocked’.  Congestion or blockages are caused by stress, illness, fatigue and tension and prevent the organ from working as efficiently as it should.  If just one part of the body is not working efficiently it affects the whole of the body throwing it out of balance.  By removing the congestion the body’s natural equilibrium is restored,  allowing it to work to its optimal level again.  Reflexology can help to maintain good health, is deeply relaxing, plus restores and balances the body helping you to work as efficiently as you can.

Swedish/Holistic Massage is a great way of helping your physical well-being. Holistic massage draws on techniques from many traditions, combining them with natural sensitivity to meet the needs of each individual as a whole.  Physically this can relax tight muscles and improve circulation, nervous system function and joint mobility.  This increases the body’s comfort and flexibility and may ease many short and long-term ailments.

My passion is to support the self-regulating and self-healing potential of each person and look at the whole 8 areas of well-being and help guide people to be the best version of themselves and to live the life they truly desire.
