What is Falls Prevention?

Falls Prevention is a rehabilitation class designed to help you feel stronger and more confident on your feet. Falls become more common with age, but the right exercise can make a real difference, and this course focuses on the things that reduce your risk and help you move about with reassurance.

Each session works on strengthening muscles, improving bone health and building balance, the key areas that keep you steady and lower the likelihood of a fall. The exercises are appropriate and manageable, designed to build you up gradually rather than push you beyond what’s comfortable.

Just as importantly, the course helps rebuild confidence. A fall, or the worry of one, can make people hesitant and less active, which only increases the risk over time. Working through structured, supportive sessions helps you trust your body again and stay independent and active for longer.

What our Falls Prevention students say

For someone like me who after having had so many falls felt nervous about attending the class I should not have worried. Tom made sure everyone felt comfortable doing the exercises to their own ability and to stay within the safety of something to hold onto should you feel you are losing your balance. I thoroughly enjoyed the classes.
The time spent with Tom at the Falls Prevention classes has been so beneficial to me personally that I’m very grateful for his help and support. I feel that I have progressed very well. Big thank you to Tom.
Very understanding for all our different needs. I think over the next few weeks I will learn a lot for my confidence. Thank you!
I just wanted to express my appreciation to Tom for the Falls course. I feel that it was so beneficial for me personally and I now look forward to starting my new course Senior Strong next week with Becky.
