Life & Wellbeing Coaching
What is Life & Wellbeing Coaching?
Life and wellbeing coaching is a forward-focused, practical discipline that works with where you are now and where you want to be. Rather than looking back, it concentrates on identifying what is getting in the way of the life you want, and building the clarity, confidence and practical strategies to move toward it.
At Walnut Grove, life and wellbeing coaching is offered through a referral to Tatiana Mirren, a certified life coach whose approach goes considerably beyond traditional goal-setting. Tatiana draws on evidence-based psychological frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Gestalt, combined with a psychosomatic perspective that recognises the deep connection between mind and body. She has been a yoga practitioner for over 25 years and weaves elements of yoga, meditation and breathwork into her coaching where it is useful, drawing on restorative practices including Yin, Nidra and body-based meditation.
Tatiana’s approach is shaped not only by her professional training but by her own lived experience of navigating significant health challenges and finding her way back to wellbeing. That journey gives her coaching a depth of understanding and compassion that clients consistently find valuable. Life & Wellbeing Coaching FAQs
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy tends to focus on understanding and processing the past. Coaching is primarily forward-focused, working with where you are now and where you want to be. That said, Tatiana’s approach draws on psychological frameworks and recognises the whole person, so the distinction is not always a sharp one. If you are unsure whether coaching or therapy is more appropriate for what you are dealing with, get in touch and we will help you work that out.
Do I need to have a specific goal to start coaching?
Not necessarily. Some people come with a very clear goal in mind. Others come with a general sense that something needs to change but are not yet sure what. Both are valid starting points. Part of the early coaching work is often helping you get clearer on what you actually want, which is itself a valuable thing to do.
What kind of things do people typically bring to coaching?
Career direction and transitions, relationships, confidence and self-worth, stress and burnout, life changes and crossroads, health and wellbeing goals, and a general sense of feeling stuck or unfulfilled. Coaching is not limited to any one area of life. If it matters to you, it is worth bringing.
What does a session actually look like?
Sessions are conversational and led by you. Tatiana may introduce specific frameworks, exercises or reflective practices depending on what is most useful, and may draw on movement, breathwork or mindfulness where appropriate. No two sessions look exactly the same because no two clients are the same. You will always know what is being introduced and why.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on what you are working on and how you like to work. Some clients engage for a focused short-term piece of work. Others find ongoing coaching valuable over a longer period. Tatiana will discuss what is likely to suit you best at the outset, and the arrangement can evolve as the work develops.
