Well, 2023 felt a lot more ‘normal’ in life than the previous few years, which I think most of us will agree was very welcome. To be able to see friends and family freely, back to business with work in the usual manner (no PPE!) and holiday once again without restrictions or extra documents felt great.
Walnut Grove has been flourishing with new additions and sadly two goodbyes.
We sadly said goodbye to Esther, the osteopath, to concentrate on her clinic nearer to home. And Lynda, an acupuncturist, to concentrate on her teaching. Both will be missed and were an asset to the clinic.
However, with sad goodbyes come happy hellos! Emelia joined us, growing the sports massage and rehabilitation team alongside Tom. Becci, a holistic therapist, also joined the Walnut Grove family bringing another arm to the clinic. We’ve never had a reflexologist before and I can personally vouch for and recommend trying it if you haven’t. We welcomed Candy, personal trainer and rehabilitation instructor, who started with her Zumba gold classes and is now leading other classes too and supporting a local Parkinson’s group hosted at the studio. Most recently we have welcomed Alan McFerran, specialist physiotherapist, coming on board to boost the injection clinic alongside Dr Williams and then Libby Stevenson, acupuncturist, to work alongside Dr Tong, once again growing the acupuncture team, who are in high demand!
Talking of Walnut Grove families, that also grew in another sense when Tom and his wife Becky welcomed their first child, Eléa, in the summer.
Congratulations also to Jason, our media man, who got married in December. We wish him and Paul many years of health and happiness together.
The last quarter of the year was busy at the studio with a few new class additions.
Candy started instructing a brand new Parkinson’s support and exercise group, which is being hosted at the clinic. Please get in touch with us to direct you to the relevant person for information about this. It is a 10-week course introduction to Parkinson’s specific exercise leading into maintenance classes.
Next up was Tatiana with her yoga therapy course, which proved such a success they all voted to extend the first course by a further few weeks! The 6-week course is returning in January. Spaces are limited for your benefit, so please do read the blog in November about this where you can also read feedback from the previous course and get booked. It’s going to be popular with already only 3 spaces left!!
Lastly, Justine held some child yoga taster sessions with great success. Watch this space for details of these classes starting in the new year! The feedback from the children was awesome and they LOVED it! We cannot wait to get this class featured regularly.
To sign off for the year, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year but most importantly extend our eternal gratitude for once again putting your trust in us to help you. We love what we do and we cannot do it without the support of all of you. To help people is a real privilege so thank you for continuing to support the clinic.
Thank you and lots of Christmas wishes to one and all!
Kathryn and Steve and the Walnut Grove Family
