Meet Our Team
Kathryn Harper
As a teenager Kathryn suffered from upper back problems and was treated by an osteopath with great results. This inspired Kathryn so much she went on to qualify at the British School of Osteopathy in 2002. Since training she has studied dry needling (western acupuncture) and uses this approach a lot within her treatment plans as it is a gentle yet effective way of creating changes within the tissues for both the chronic and acute patient.
Kathryn also gained her APPI Pilates certificate in 2004 completing both her matwork 1 and 2 qualifications and then subsequently pre/post natal pilates training at the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute. Whilst she no longer teaches Pilates in a class setting she often uses Pilates to help rehab her patients aiding their recovery.
More recently, in 2017 she trained in the use of shockwave therapy (NICE approved), an effective treatment approach for, amongst other conditions, chronic tendon issues. Kathryn is a registered practitioner for the Arthritis Action Charity and many private healthcare companies including AXA.
Kathryn joined Walnut Grove Clinic in 2007 and is married to Steve and they have two children, plus Rufus the spaniel. She loves going on long walks, the occasional run (!) and is a very keen kettlebeller, having done this form of strength training for well over 5+ years as she believes strength training is an important component to injury prevention and keeping healthy especially as we get older.

What Kathryn's patients say...
Have been going to Kathryn at Walnut grove for probably about 15 years. She is the best Osteopath I think I've ever been treated by. She's always sorts my back and neck out and puts me at my ease. She's friendly and knowledgeable and is completely awesome.
I've seen Kathryn Harper for many years and she has always been extremely professional, friendly and reassuring, always doing her best to get me out of discomfort or pain. She's been a life saver at times! She's also never pressurised me with follow ups so you feel in control of your recovery process, but always there if you need her. Highly recommend!
Kathryn assessed my symptoms methodically and sensitively. My problem was accurately diagnosed and the treatment received delivered an immediate benefit after just one session.
I visited Kathryn for treatment for painful plantar fasciitis. Kathryn recommended shock wave therapy after other treatments had little effect. Can highly recommend - pain not gone altogether but so much better and I am able to walk again without hobbling!
