Living with chronic lung conditions such as COPD and asthma can be challenging and often leaves individuals feeling short of breath and fatigued. Better Breathing (pulmonary rehabilitation) classes are tailored programs designed to help individuals with chronic lung conditions improve their breathing and overall lung function.
Exercise training in pulmonary rehab classes focuses on improving overall physical fitness and increasing endurance, which reduces stress on the respiratory system. Allowing each participant to work at their own pace and ability. Class exercises can help improve breathing efficiency, decrease the levels of dyspnoea (breathlessness), and improve the efficiency of oxygen delivery to the body, leading to increased energy levels.
Each class involves strength exercises to work the muscles that support the lungs and cardiovascular exercise which helps with improved breathing patterns (as well as many other benefits)
The classes can help individuals with conditions such as COPD and asthma to manage their symptoms and reduce the frequency and severity of exacerbations.
Additionally, education on lung health and breathing techniques can empower individuals to better manage their condition and reduce the impact of symptoms on their daily life.
Our Better Breathing classes also provide a supportive environment where individuals can connect with others facing similar challenges. Members have commented how helpful it is to find empathy and support from others who understand. This sense of community can be invaluable in helping individuals feel understood, supported, and motivated to continue their journey towards better lung health.
By incorporating deep breathing techniques into daily routines and participating in Better Breathing classes, individuals can improve their lung function, manage their symptoms more effectively, and ultimately enjoy a better quality of life. If you or a loved one are living with a chronic lung condition, consider exploring the benefits of Better Breathing classes to support your overall lung health and well-being.
Our classes run on a Wednesday 2.15pm with Becky and are just £6 per class.
