Meet Our Team
Ruth Haskew
Ruth graduated from the University College of Osteopathy in 2016 with Masters in Osteopathy having previously worked for five years as a sports massage therapist in London and Suffolk. She relocated to the west in 2019.
Taking a whole person approach, listening to your story, Ruth seeks to help you address the causes and contributing factors of your problem, not just treat the symptoms.
Ruth enjoys working with adults, older adults, pregnancy and postpartum, persistent pain and amateur sports people.
Ruth uses predominantly gentle osteopathic techniques, including soft tissue, medical acupuncture and cranial osteopathy to help ease your body’s strains. Ruth will work with you to create a management plan to help you move forwards.
A session can also involve a detailed movement analysis using the JEMStm approach to help you understand and address movement dysfunctions. Whilst this is suitable for most people, and of particular interest to active and sorts people, it is also incredibly useful for less mobile and older adults.

What Ruth's patients say...
As always a great appointment with osteopath Ruth today. She always takes so much care to listen to what issues you are having and provides a very tailor made, gentle approach to treating them. I never fail to feel better after I have seen you.
Ruth is truly brilliant at what she does. Very knowledgeable and reassuring, especially at a time when you're in pain etc. Ruth has not only helped my neck pain, but has given me helpful exercises to do at home which will help manage future flare ups. I'm very grateful for all her help and support recently. Thank you.
Ruth was excellent, she asked a multitude of very relevant questions followed by an intensive examination of my hips, muscles and surrounding area. She confirmed my lack of exercise had caused muscle wastage on both hips. She recommended 5 minutes exercise bike cycling each day increasing to 15 minutes over a long period, eg a year. She asked me to come and see her in two weeks to assess the result of the daily exercise. She also advised me to see my Doctor to arrange an X-ray or scan. I phoned my Surgery who will ask my Doctor to advise Southmead Radiology to do this. I am waiting for confirmation from the Surgery that this has been done. Ruth is a credit to Walnut Grove.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to the team at Walnut Grove, a year ago I was in so much pain with a back problem it was literally draining my personality - not only have Tom and Ruth improved my mobility, I am now stronger and more flexible than I have been in years! Thank you so much.
